ARGUS has an alarm receiving centre at its disposal that is equipped with the latest infrastructure and is therefore able to respond immediately and appropriately to every alert.

Founded in 1968 as a small private security service, ARGUS continually grew, due to prudent company policies, into one of the leading providers of security solutions in the Principality of Liechtenstein and Switzerland.
This family business based in Eschen employs roughly 200 people.

As a businessman, Wolfgang Marxer has significantly shaped and developed ARGUS as a company. He has worked for the company since 1983 and is the owner of the company as well as a member of the administrative board and director for the company’s overall management.
Marco Weishaupt has been working for ARGUS since 2008 and is director for the company’s overall management. He completed his studies at the University of Applied Sciences HTW Chur as a qualified business economist and was managing director of a medical technology company before joining ARGUS.
Daniel Banzer has worked for ARGUS since 2008. As the department manager for IT and technology, he is in charge of any technical issues as well as the human resources management of the IT department. Daniel Banzer successfully completed his studies as a qualified telematics specialist and held a managerial position at a business enterprise for over twenty years.
Renato Putelli has been working for ARGUS since 2015 and runs all operative departments. After completing his basic, technical training, he held managerial positions in several international companies over the course of 20 years. In addition to his extensive training in leadership and management, Renato Putelli also managed to earn an MAS (Master of Advanced Studies) at the University of Applied Sciences HTW Chur in 2011.
Peter Stüger has been working for ARGUS since 1991 and is currently a member of the executive board as special account executive. As the long-time operations manager of the alarm receiving centre, he has a comprehensive knowledge of the operations within the company. Peter Stüger completed basic training in business administration and has since worked in various sectors.
1968 Founding of the company “Privatbewachungsdienst ARGUS” in Mauren (Liechtenstein) by Hans Marxer. Initially, the company’s activity only encompasses the Unterland district of Liechtenstein in the field of building security.
1983 Wolfgang Marxer, the founder’s son, joins the company. The company changes from a sole proprietorship to “ARGUS Sicherheitsdienst AG” under the equal ownership of Hans Marxer and his son Wolfgang. Inclusion of workplace security services as one of the services offered by the company and expansion of the catchment area (formally Unterland only) to include Schaan and Vaduz.
1990 Commissioning of company’s own alarm receiving centre, expansion of workforce to 15 people and occupation of new office space in the centre of Eschen.
1995 Acquisition of the company’s first armoured vehicle and inclusion of cash/valuables-in-transit as one of the services offered by the company.
1998 Purchase of a commercial property on Landstrasse in Vaduz and opening of a branch in Oberland.
1999 Incorporation of “ProWach AG” as a subsidiary company and occupation of the company’s own office building in Eschen as head office. The office in Eschen is equipped with the most modern alarm receiving centre in Liechtenstein and the neighbouring countries.
2004 Acquisition of the customers and employees of “AFS”, formerly “Die Wache AG”.
2010 Founding of “ARGUS Sicherheitsdienst GmbH” in Buchs, St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Today, ARGUS employs roughly 200 people. The company’s catchment area, with regard to its security services, includes the Principality of Liechtenstein as well as the bordering Rhine Valley, from Oberriet to Sargans. Besides, as a reliable provider of alarm services, ARGUS has garnered an outstanding reputation across Europe.
